EZVI-CH4 combines the same emulsified zero-valent iron chemistry as EZVI with a natural, food-grade methane suppressant blended into its fermentable hydrogen-donor component — for sites where uncontrolled methane generation is a safety or regulatory concern.
How It Works
Direct contaminant degradation proceeds through the same abiotic and biotic pathways as EZVI, while natural statin compounds integrated into the emulsion inhibit methanogenic archaea and suppress excess methane production during treatment.
Applications
- DNAPL-contaminated sites where methane build-up in groundwater, soil gas or indoor air is a concern
Advantages
- Same dual-pathway DNAPL treatment as EZVI
- Suppresses methane generation for safer, more predictable remediation
- Natural, food-grade methane inhibitor — no added chemical hazard
